Lake Cooper Duck Hunting
Located 90 miles to the northeast of Dallas, Lake Cooper has a type II public hunting land especially landscaped for duck huntiers. Acres of water controlled by levess is kept at about three feet deep-perfect for the walk-in hunter. No vehicles (except boats) are allowed on the hunting area.

John Nix wades into the public hunting water of Lake Cooper
The water level at Lake Cooper is kept fairly level during duck season, but if you go for early teal season, be prepared to search for the waterline.

Sunrise at the Lake Cooper hunting area. The public hunting land was especially landscaped for hunters and is one of my favorite places to watch the sun rise.

The snow goose population has increased so much that a lonely flock of snows bravely passed over the levees of  Lake Cooper. Startled by their how close they came, John Nix and Anne only downed one.
